Stay healthy and shaped during Ramadhan with Celebrity Fitness!

Hi Celebrators, during holy month of Ramadhan, we confirm that our clubs will remain open as normal club operation hours and available for use, from early morning until late in the evening. Just in case you do not know, doctors and experts on physical fitness consistently suggest that stopping all exercise during the fasting month is not good for your body or your health and instead recommend that members who are fasting reduce the intensity of their exercise program, reduce the time spent on each exercise activity and are careful to allow a period of digestion after breaking the fast and before commencing physical activity. So please do not freeze your membership during Ramadhan, keep working out!

To ensure our classes remain accessible to all members, including those fasting during Ramadhan, our instructors will be ensuring the classes are slightly shorter in length and lower in intensity. In some clubs we notice an increase in interest in yoga during Ramadhan and therefore some clubs will be offering additional yoga classes. Maintaining an exercise program during Ramadhan is important to ensure you do not lose the benefits from exercising that you have worked hard to achieve during the previous months. Although your metabolism will slow down whilst fasting as your body conserves energy, light intensity exercise will help you to continue to burn fat and remain toned. Remember although you are fasting during the day, your body is still taking in calories in the evening and many members actually find during the fasting month, contrary to what they thought would happen, they actually gain weight. Therefore we recommend you attend some aerobics classes (which will be slightly shorter than normal and lower intensity), consider a workout with a personal trainer who can moderate the exercise program to your personal needs and time of day, plus you should engage in shorter workout sessions on the treadmills, bikes and other gym equipment. Some members prefer to focus on relaxation during this period and we recommend attending yoga classes.

Celebrity Services Management and our club staff (many of whom are fasting as well), invite all members (regardless of whether you are fasting), to join together to break the fast each evening. Please go to the member’s lounge where complimentary tea will be served.
