1.      WHAT IS CELEBRITY FITNESS?     

Celebrity Fitness is the fastest growing health, fitness and wellness company in South East Asia with over 100,000 members and over 30 clubs located through out Indonesia and Malaysia. Celebrity Fitness pioneered the concept of a fitness center with an entertainment ambiance. Many of Celebrity Fitness club members join not only to exercise; also to make friends, join classes, relax and chill out in vibrant club lounges and salons. Celebrity Fitness clubs are generally located within shopping malls so that members, after working out, can conveniently shop, dine, pick up their groceries, or go to the cinema. This helps Celebrity Fitness club members to combine a healthy workout with their busy daily routine, which in turn means that they tend to remain members longer and therefore see tangible wellness benefits from their gym membership. Celebrity Fitness has received many awards and commendations, winning the prestigious Top Brand (best fitness brand category) in 2009, 2010 and 2011; Men’s Health Magazine Best Overall Gym Award 2011. 2.      WHO IS BEHIND CELEBRITY FITNESS SINGAPORE?

Celebrity Fitness was founded in 2003 by 24 Fitness America veterans: John Franklin, Mike Anderson and John J Sweeney, all of whom have lived and worked previously in Singapore. The current CEO is Martin Darby, a long term Singaporean Permanent Resident. The Singaporean clubs are wholly owned and managed by Celebrity Fitness Singapore Pte Ltd, majority owned by Navis Capital Partners a respected local equity business. The business is profitable, established and intends to grow quickly in Singapore with up to eight clubs forecast within the first twelve months

3.      WHERE WILL CELEBRITY FITNESS BE OPENING AND WHEN?

Celebrity Fitness will open its first Singapore operation at Rochester Mall, Buona Vista in February 2012. Celebrity Fitness Rochester is now open on-line for registration of interest. A dedicated sales centre will open on 12^th December 2011. Further clubs will open over the next six-twelve months including a location at E! Hub, Downtown East, Pasir Ris expected to open in May 2012.

4.      WHAT FACILITIES WILL THE CLUBS HAVE?

Celebrity Fitness fitness centres have three dedicated fitness studios – aerobics/dance, cycling and yoga/wellness. Celebrity Fitness continues to lead the fitness industry in South East Asia pioneering LesMills and TRX group class personal training plus introducing new and exclusive programs to Singapore including freestyle cycling – Celebrity Fitness Peloton™; exclusive and innovative advanced yoga – Celebrity Fitness Floating Yoga™, exclusive dance classes for members only under the brand name DNA – Dance N ’Attitude™. The fitness centres include state of the art Technogym and Life Fitness gym equipment, members lounges, personal training suites and hotel standard locker rooms including facilities for the disabled.

5.      WHAT CLASSES WILL THE CLUBS HAVE?

Celebrity Fitness continues to lead the fitness industry in South East Asia pioneering LesMills and TRX group class personal training plus introducing new and exclusive programs to Singapore including freestyle cycling – Celebrity Fitness Peloton™; exclusive and innovative advanced yoga – Celebrity Fitness Floating Yoga™, exclusive dance classes for members only under the brand name DNA – Dance N ’Attitude™.

6.      HOW MUCH WILL MEMBERSHIP COST AND WILL THERE BE A PRE-OPENING SPECIAL PRICE?

Celebrity Fitness sells six and twelve month gym membership (often referred to as ‘monthly dues’ as payment is collected monthly rather than required upfront). Pricing is transparent and non-negotiable. Pricing is shown before GST (tax). Please note that Celebrity Fitness do not sell lifetime memberships. Two standard membership types are available – one club use or all club use.  Membership pricing will be announced shortly and will be similar to Fitness First and Amore Fitness Centres. Special lower priced introductory membership will be available to all those who pre-register on-line, or visit our sales centre at Rochester Mall. Special membership prices are also available for students, NTUC and OCBC cardholders.

7.      WHAT TYPE OF MEMBERSHIP DO YOU SELL?

Most members choose to sign up for either a three, six or twelve month contract (often called ‘monthly dues’). If you chose this approach, you need to provide us with details OF YOUR CREDIT CARD OR of your bank account and then a direct debit is set up from your account and each month Celebrity Fitness will deduct the monthly membership amount. On joining Celebrity Fitness you will be asked to pay a onetime joining fee, plus as a deposit the first and last month’s payment in advance (equivalent to two months dues). Please remember that although you sign up for a six or twelve month initial membership period, your monthly deductions from your account will continue to be made each month until you advise Celebrity Fitness in writing that you wish to terminate your contract. Please also note that monthly membership rates may from time to time increase, due to factors like taxation changes, that are beyond our control. If monthly dues payment amounts need to change you will be advised in advance in writing. Special discounted monthly dues membership are available for students, NTUC and OCBC cardholders and those who pre-register on-line, or visit our sales centre at Rochester Mall prior to the first club opening.  

An alternative to monthly dues membership is a fully paid in advance six or twelve month membership (often called ‘term membership’). The price of this membership is guaranteed for the full term period but payment must be made in full in advance. A one time joining fee is payable

8.      WILL THEIR BE MEMBERSHIP DISCOUNTS/BENEFITS?

Special lower priced introductory membership will be available to all those who pre-register on-line, or visit our sales centre at Rochester Mall prior to the club opening. Special membership prices are also available for students, NTUC and OCBC cardholders. The Celebrity Fitness membership card comes with a range of benefits both redeemable within the club and with our special partners including Adidas, Derma Solutions, Park Avenue Suites, NTUC, etc

9.      WILL THERE BE FREE TRIAL GYM PASSES AVAILABLE?

Celebrity Fitness will be offering initially one day free trial gym passes to those interested in membership, but wishing to try out the facilities first. Please make sure you have your IC card with you to register for these one day passes.

10.   I’M A MEMBER OVERSEAS, CAN I USE MY CELEBRITY FITNESS MEMBERSHIP IN SINGAPORE?

Most Celebrity Fitness all club members have access only to all clubs in their home country. Of course if visiting Singapore, please show your valid Celebrity Fitness membership card and Celebrity Fitness Singapore will be delighted to offer you the chance to experience our fitness centre for a one day free trial. It is possible to transfer your membership to Singapore, though please note that payment in Singapore Dollars and pricing would apply. In 2012 Celebrity Fitness will be launching an International Passport Membership for those frequently travelling between Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.
